“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. -Mark Twain
Welcome to Nomadic Midlife!
Hi! We’re the Chids. Together with Walter Mitsubishi, our soon-to-be home on wheels, we have taken an ealry retirement to start an epic journey--a long road trip down the PanAmerican Highway--as a way to avoid a midlife crisis. Follow along as we pursue a radical journey of discovery and adventure.
We are glad you’re here.
So, what actually is a Nomadic Midlife?
Hopefully, it is an upgrade to the standard mid-life crisis, an angst-filled response to feeling trapped between the passing of youth and the encroachment of old age. A mid-life crisis can lead a person to make unwise and unhealthful choices. We, the Chids, are setting out to handle middle-age differently, though. We hope our midlife will be a thing of beauty and adventure, learning and exploration, in diverse settings all over the world. Time will tell.
